I’m a news anchor, correspondent, and radio and television producer with experience at media outlets in the United States and Latin America.
As a news correspondent, I covered the migration crisis at the Southern U.S. border and political issues, reporting from locations and from our bureaus in Atlanta, Washington, and Miami.
Through the microphones of CNN Radio, I communicated to the audience of CNN affiliate stations very important news, such as the earthquake in Haiti in 2010 and the death of singer Michael Jackson. Also, I have interviewed influential personalities such as Nobel Peace Prize winner Rigoberta Menchú and music stars such as Enrique Iglesias.
On May 1st, 2011, I informed the audience of CNN en Español about the death of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. The coverage of this important news was followed live by millions of viewers.
Before my arrival at CNN, I worked in the United States for iHeartMedia, Inc. in Atlanta as a programming assistant and anchor for the music show “Orbita Rock” at the station Viva 105.7 FM.
Working as a news reporter for Citynoticias and the newspaper El Tiempo, I covered the terror attack against the social club El Nogal on January 7, 2003, in Bogotá, Colombia. This terrorist action killed 36 people and left 200 more wounded. This story was a challenge for me as a young reporter.
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, I’m completely fluent in Spanish and English.
I have attended the prestigious training workshop of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) for visual journalists looking to expand and grow my multimedia skill sets using the latest technology.
